Bonjour! I’m a UX researcher. I specialize in interviewing and conducting usability testing with empathy.

That’s because I listen.

It’s an underrated skill. It requires a patient, open, respectful, non-judgemental demeanor, acute observation and verbal techniques, the understanding and mirroring of body language, and much more. When I worked as a school counselor, students talked with me about everything, from the tragic to the mundane. Hearing someone share something that’s bothering them is truly a privilege. By observing, and listening for the things that go unsaid, I’ve also learned to be able to cut through what the person might be saying to see what they are actually feeling.

Listening is my superpower.

I’ve been interested in the process of creating digital products for several years. In 2019, I began by taking two classes in Java. I really enjoyed using coding and technology to problem-solve. I was very interested in what I later learned was called information architecture. During the first of several hackathons I’ve participated in, I struck up a conversation with a neighboring attendee. Everyone who was walking by her project couldn’t help but stop and play with her app. Something about it was enticing and engaging, and made people smile. I asked her what it was about her project that drew people in. She told me about “user interface” and “user experience” and the pivotal importance of how people feel about a digital product. I realized that with my skills as a counselor, though I enjoyed coding, I could add more value to a digital product through understanding the user experience. In 2020, I enrolled in Springboard in their UX/UI Career program to hone my craft. After 700+ hours of UX and UI studies, projects and hard work, I’m excited to be ready to bring my skills to your organization.

I’ve worked as a counselor and a French and ESL teacher. I’ve lived in France and in Québec, and I have US and Canadian citizenship. My students call me energetic and funny.

I’m looking for a part-time UX research position in NJ or remotely, in a non-profit or in government.

Drop me a line. Let’s chat. You’re going to love me!
